Elder Jackie Wilburn - November 18, 2011

Rev. Jackie Wilburn went home to be with Jesus early Friday morning, November,18th at the age of 74.  He was a faithful preacher of the Gospel, husband, father and friend.  Although D'Jack's passing was sudden and unexpected, we know we will meet again because of the precious blood of Jesus of which he so fervently preached.  The link below is a wonderful video of D'Jack singing possibly his trademark song. 

The Old Story Will Never Grow Old

Eld. Jackie Wilburn, age 74 of South Carthage, died Friday morning, November 18 at the LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville.  He is survived by:  wife, Elaine Wilburn;  sons, Jimmy Wilburn & wife Kathy of Carthage, Jay Wilburn & wife Brenda of Erin, Jonathan Wilburn & wife Sandra of Gadsden, AL;  sisters, Judy Sullivan of Nashville, Patsy Wilkerson & husband Phil of Beasleys Bend;  6 grandchildren;  3 great-grandchildren.

Eld. Wilburn is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Fuenral Home where his service will be conducted Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with Jordan Wilburn, Eld. Jay Wilburn, & Eld. Junior Dickerson officiating.  Interment in the Dixon Springs Cemetery with Bro. Jim Wilburn officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Carthage Chapel on Sunday from 12 noon until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Plunketts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund.
